    Monday, March 23rd

    checkbox   Read "Deadly Hits" in SCOPE magazine.  Use the paper magazine or use scope.scholastic.com.   Use the class code "jmsrocks."

    checkbox  Complete pages 1 and 2 of the SCOPE packet that was given to you last Friday. 

    If you did not receive the paper packet, please email me at ddennis@jmk12.org and I can send a scanned copy to you.  You can also go to the school and ask for a paper copy of my packet as well as the magazines.  Please call the school first (740)967-8766 to make sure someone is there and can bring the magazines /packet out to you.

    checkbox   Are you ready for i-ready?  Go to i-ready.com and complete the "Understanding Connotative Meanings" lesson.

     

    Friday, March 27

    checkbox  Find all of the figurative language in the song lyrics of "Fireflies" by Owl City.  Here is a link to the lyrics.  I think there is a way that you can listen to it, too!  It is an oldie, but a goodie!  Write as many examples as you can find down on a piece of paper and be ready to discuss on Edmodo.

    checkbox  Find a song of your own that is rich with at least five examples of figurative language.  You can find the lyrics to a lot of songs on azlyrics.com  Write the name of your song, who it's by, and your five examples down so you can share on Edmodo.  Do not try to use the same song as someone else.  Be original and try to find a song that no one will pick. 

    checkbox  Be sure to have read ALL of the articles assigned this week.  Be ready with your song and examples!
